The menfolk of Duck Dynasty are well known for their long beards. Jase Robertson is no different. And when it looked like no one would ever see Jase without his beard, he decided to surprise everyone by going and shaving it cleanly off for charity.
Jase and family run the Mia Moo Fund, aimed at helping children born with cleft lip and palate. As part of raising awareness on the issue and to collect donations to help the kids in need, the family started campaign #ShaveJase.
The fans of Duck Dynasty were obviously intrigued by the prospect of seeing Jase clean shaven. And after days of teasing, Jase finally shaved off his beard in the presence of his family and well-wishers, and uploaded his new look on Facebook.
The fans were thrilled at the clean-shaven look of the person they had admired for so long. One user commented: “Wow!! Still think he is as handsome as he was with the beard! And the fact that he did for such a good cause makes it that much sweeter! Love this family miss this show so much!!”
The event was a moderate success and Jase was able to raise donations from 600 people towards his charity.
The Mia Moo Fund is named after Jase’s daughter Mia Robertson. She was born with a cleft palate and had to undergo surgery to get it corrected. And when he saw thousands of people supporting and commenting on how beautiful and strong his daughter is for undergoing surgery, Jase was inspired.
He later decided to do something for children born with cleft lip and palate, which eventually led to the creation of the Mia Moo Fund.
“With your support, we can help these children view life from a new perspective, gain the confidence they deserve and reach their full potential as they grow and become extraordinary examples to their friends, family, classmates, neighbors and more,” the foundation states on its website.
By shaving off his trademark beard, Jase has inspired people to donate to the cause, ensuring that the Mia Moo Fund will be in a position to help as many children as it can.
